The Semantics Gestapo is concerned with the use of semantics on the Planet of Alpha Phonics IV. Those caught mis-using semantics are hunted down to great lengths to be re-educated. In one instance they went to the other end of the universe on a Dino-naut controlled planetoid to extract the former Minister of Disinformation, Lord Eatslikeabird. Sparking an interplantery conflict ending at the Siege of Phonics.

Following the Great Linguistics War, the Semantics Gestapo has held an uneasy cease-fire with the Syntax Nazi. Both agreed to respect the other's territory, and embarked on a joint effort to eradicate linguists who insist syntax and semantics are inseparable.

Manifesto

The Semantic Manifesto, a poorly-written but easy-to-understand document, enumerates the core beliefs of the Semantics Gestapo. The Fundamental Tenet of Meaning holds that ultimately, syntax and grammar are subservient to meaning. Thus, violations of the "artificial standards" imposed by those disciplines can be justified in the name of clarity.

The Manifesto is known for its utter lack of ambiguities, despite disregarding most known grammatical conventions.

Lifestyle

When not slaughtering linguists, the Gestapo can often be found writing poetry. He has called poetry, "the purest form of semantics" since it "places grammar and syntax at poet's mercy."
